LAWL Maritimes Inc. held exclusive franchise rights to operate weight loss clinics in the Canadian Atlantic provinces under the name of LA Weight Loss Centre. The Company had nine locations operating.

On December 12, 2008, Shiner Kideckel Zweig Inc. was appointed Receiver of the Company, pursuant to, inter alia, a General Security Agreement.
